FBYC Update regarding Province-wide Stay-at-home Order
As you know, we are under a Province wide Stay-At -Home order mandated by the Ontario Government. Since the order was issued there has been some confusion, and interpretations continue to evolve. Frenchman’s Bay Marina decided to resume boat launching which required FBYC to review conditions and guidelines published in our most recent announcement, to accommodate boats being launched and docked at our club.
The Board met on April 21, 2021 to review the legislation once again and to revise our protocol. Please review the following amendments/revisions to our previous communication on April 18, 2021:
1. First and foremost, always follow COVID 19 protocols specifically. If you must visit the club to service and maintain your boat and equipment, you must always wear a mask when you are on the grounds, docks or in the clubhouse. Keep 2m distance with anyone outside of your household. If you have not yet launched your boat, please refrain from visiting the club unless you are assisting another Member with their service or maintenance.
2. We are setting up a logbook in the Duty Officer room beside the pop machine that must be completed every time you visit the club. This is to ensure that we have a record in case someone tests positive for COVID and we have to contact trace.
3. The club house is only to be accessed to enter your name, date and time of visit in the logbook and to use the washroom.
4. You may access your boat to ensure that it is securely tied to the dock and to maintain and service it.
5. We have interpreted the regulation such that mast stepping is considered service/maintenance of your boat. If at all possible, your mast-stepping team should be comprised of members of the same household. However, for safety reasons if you are not familiar with the operation of the mast crane or have an insufficient number of people to assist, you should ask for additional help to step your mast safely. While using the mast crane, you must wear a proper mask and distance where you are safely able, during the mast stepping process.
6. In the spirit of the legislation, and for the safety of your fellow Members, please do not spend any more time at the club than you must, to achieve essential tasks and return home. These rules are designed to comply with the Government guideline so while on site, please adhere to all published guidelines.
The information on the Ontario Government's website is constantly changing, and as such I will ask that you always visit their website for the latest regulation updates.
